Reverse D2a- Small bean shaped die break inside bottom loop of right S in States.

Comments: The1921-D VAM-13A is "Bean Bottom S" variety (scroll down for details).
This variety may be double-listed as the 1921-D VAM-11A. Examine the photo below for a line between the "u" in "Trust" and "O" in "OF." It seems that this is the same die gouge as in 1921-D VAM-11A.
This is a "Bean Bottom S" variety. Click on the Bean Bottom S VAMworld page for links to the other bean bottom VAMs.
In September 2007, Leroy revised his listing for the 21-D VAM-13 to include the "Bean Bottom S" feature and scribbling scratches tailfeathers. This die state was subsequently assigned VAM-13A.
Below are some photos of the revision specimen, which may help to eliminate a 1921-D VAM-5(x) variety(ies) if we detect that this coin is separately listed over in the VAM-5's. Since the die gouge O makes the VAM-13, then this Bean Bottom S is a solid VAM-13, no doubt about it. The O gouge is prominent and undeniable.
