'''1.''' You are sitting at your desk with an 1883-P and can't find anything to match it with on these pages, Well, '''you''' may have an '''EDS''' of VAM-12 and it's simple to find out if you look on the reverse bewteen the lower right wing and the olive branch. You will see a horizontal polishing line. There are actually about three if you had a 200X scope. This variety is readily available in all collectible grades. The pitting is not noted in the description because it was pointed out in the introduction of the date in the VAM book. (Please don't send pitted obverse 1883 Morgans to Leroy as new discoveries.)
'''2.''' Notice the die break going thru the date and the die chip in the second 8. This can be helpful in differentiating between the VAMs 12 & 14.
