Collaboration by: SD Members
OBVERSE FEATURES:
This Variety has a slanted Date with the closest digit to the Rim being the 1. Liberty's Nose, Lips, and Chin are slightly doubled. Doubling is also seen at the right inside and bottom of the Ear. The most distinctive feature of this Variety is the raised bump located in front of the Liberty's Nose directly across from the lower eyelid.
REVERSE FEATURES:
No listable VAM features are seen on the Reverse.
COMMENTS ON POSTED COIN:
In addition to the VAM-14 features mentioned above, the following are noted.
A) An Obverse clash line is seen exiting the joint between Liberty's Jaw and Neck and running into the field. The clash event has left its marks on Liberty's Nose to Chin area, as well as at the bottom back part of the Phyrgian Cap.
B) A Reverse clash line is seen exiting the Eagle's Right Wing heading upward to the n of In. Both Right Wreath Cluster #1 and Left Wreath Clusters #1 and #2 show the effects of the clash event.
C) Two die file lines can be seen in top inside portion of the Ear.
The Obverse clash line was caused by the clashing of the Eagle's Right Wing and the Reverse clash line was caused by the clashing of Liberty's Neck Line. The clash marks at Liberty's Nose to Chin area were caused by the clashing of the top inward leaf edges of Left Wreath Cluster #2 and the marks seen at the back bottom part of the Phrygian Cap were caused by the clashing of inward leaf edges of Right Wreath Cluster #1. The clash marks seen on Left Wreath Clusters #1 and #2 were created by the clashing of Liberty's Lips and Chin. The bat wing feature seen between the Eagle's Left Wing and Right Wreath Cluster #1 was produced by the clashing of Liberty's Cap Vee area.
