Comments:

  1. Unlike Morgan dollar die breaks which start at the rim, Peace dollar dies inevitably break in the middle of the coin. Here the stress point at the junction of the neck and jaw collapsed, leaving an interesting variety to collect. The Whisker Jaw is large enough that it's visible to the naked eye and is also known to come in high grades; making it a very collectible part of the Top 50. Despite the R-7 rarity factor for the Vam 1A2, this Sub-Variety is nearly as common as the regular 1A.
