1922-P VAM-6 Doubled DOLLAR, Lower Rays

Discovered by Randy Campbell, March 1993.
This coin is a Top 50 Peace Dollar VAM.
6(revised) II 1 · B2d (Doubled DOLLAR, Lower Rays) I-3 R-4
Obverse II 1 - Normal die
Reverse B2d– Doubled bottom of middle olive leaves, left side of top and lower olive leaves, left side of rays below DOL, base of DOLLAR, below middle and right talon, back of leg feathers, and base of E of E PLURIBUS.
1- Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.
The doubling on a correctly attributed VAM-6 should be visible to the naked eye for those with sharp vision. The VAM-6 is often confused with
VAM-11, VAM-12, VAM-13, VAM-18 and VAM-23.

Additional Photos

The 2 photos below are from the VAM-6A Discovery coin. Note the huge shift
on all elements of the reverse.

Note the strongly doubled reverse. DOLLAR doubling should be clearly evident
and can even be clearly seen in the photo below.

Note: The 3 photos below need verification as the doubling in the photos does not look as strong as the VAM-6 and the doubling on DOLLAR should be evident on a correctly attributed VAM-6.
