1922-P VAM-5A2 Scar Cheek, Tripled Olive Leaves, Die Gouge G
This coin is a Top 50 Peace Dollar VAM.
5A2 II 1 · B2c (Scar Cheek, Tripled Olive Leaves, Die Gouge G) I-5 R-6
Obverse II 1 - Vertical die break and large die break just behind Liberty’s mouth. Vertical die gouge below G in God.
Reverse B2c - Tripled olive leaves.
Comments: The 1922 Vam-5A2 is named for the large die break that forms a scar on the cheek. As with other die breaks with progressions, the later die stages command higher premiums. All Vam 5A's show a die gouge under the "G" in "GOD". Collectors should come to their own conclusions about the rarity of the sub-varieties.
