Discovery March 2008 by Raymond Roberts
26A IV 17 • D2a (Tripled Left Stars Doubled Right Reverse) (189) I-2, R-6
Obverse IV 17 – Slightly tripled left stars towards rim and lower edge of both 1’s upper crossbar. Doubled right stars towards rim and bottom of 92 loops. Slightly doubled tops of RIBUS UNUM towards rim.
Reverse D2a – Slightly doubled ES OF AMERICA DOLLAR and right star towards rim. No scribbling die scratches. Radial die crack from wreath through C in AMERCIA to denticles with break inside C.
1. The discovery coin actually has two radial cracks. The one through the C is what earned the "A" designation, however, there was a second crack opposite this between the Left Star and the U in UNITED that originated at the rim and went through the left wreath and into the field between the wreath and the eagle.
2. The discovery coin was graded and slabbed by ANACS as MS 62.
