1N1 (revised) IV 1 · D2a (Goatee Chin Die Gouge, Scribbling Die Scratches #32, Clashed Obverse Double I) (189) I-2 R-5
Obverse IV 1– Short die gouge on chin. Clashed die with double partial incuse I of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck.
Reverse D2a - Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg and between eagle's left wing and body. Die markers- Horizontal die scratch below O in OF and raised dots on left and right of upper loop of right S in STATES.
Comments:
1- In later die state VAM-1N2, the goatee has been polished away. and should be reclassified as VAM-29B
2- Same die scratch below O of OF on reverse as VAM-1CE, Which is more than likely the real 1N2
