COMMENTS: From Leroy's letter: "New VAMs 1AA1, 1AA2 & 1AA3, Has scribbling die scratches of VAM1AA reported by Crae Morton in Jan 08 but without die file lines on obv or rev. Has faint clashed n at Liberty head neck & raised acorn shaped metal above d in God from space below M on obv. Made your coin die state 1AA2, the earliest die state without clash marks or scribbling 1AA1, and die file lines die state 1AA3. Interesting coin & nice early dies state, so die state without clash marks must be rare!"
A specimen has surfaces with many of these exact die file lines of the reverse of the 1921-S VAM-1Z but with the obverse of the 1921-S VAM-1AA. This coin will be sent to Leroy for examination.
