1921-P VAM-81A Doubled Profile, Date, Left Stars, Polished Reverse, Break E-D

Discovered March 2008
81A IV62 - D2a (Doubled Profile, Date, Left Stars, Polished Reverse, Break E-D) (189) I-2 R-5
Obverse IV62 - Slightly doubled profile from LIBERTY band down to chin. Date digits and left stars doubled on left side. Slightly doubled E-LU-BUS on right side.
Reverse D2a - Fine die file lines in various directions above Eagle, to right and below Eagles Left wing and in middle of both wings. Diagonal die scratch thru D in DOLLAR. Die crack at lower left of D over to denticles with intersecting radial crack up to left bow ribbon end and displaced field break at cracks.
1- The reverse on this coin is amazing. This link shows good photos of the scribbles & reverse polishing (as listed). [Message Thread]. The coin pictured in the thread does NOT have the Break at E-D, just a hint of the crack.
2-1921-P VAM-81 and 1921-P VAM-81A appear to be later die states of 1921-P VAM-3BQ. (JA)
