Discovered by Jeff Oxman, August 2006.
72A IV 54 · D1a (Tripled Left stars & E PL, Doubled Profile, Wing Top Gouges) (189) I-2 R-6
Reverse D1a– Several broad, shallow vertical gouges from top of eagle’s left wing up thru F in OF to denticles and below wing top next to first A in AMERICA. Similar to gouges in VAMs 3AB & 3AD and likely caused by press feed fingers malfunction.
1- See the Feed Finger Gouges page for similar varieties.
2- please see VAM-3AB these may be just different die states

(what appears to be a long crack through I and ending above the cap, and at point of bust are actually the edges of stain areas.)
