1921-P VAM-3Y Die Break ES of STATES and Wing Tip

3Y(revised) IV 1 · D2a (Die Break Wing Tip & ES) (189) I-3 R-6
Reverse D2a– Die crack thru eagle’s right wing tip extending up above first S in STATES and above D in UNITED with displaced field of a break. Die crack thru top of STATES with double crack and break between ES. Fine die scratches in various directions on over-polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg and between eagle's left wing and body. Die marker: short horizontal die scratch at top right inside of eagle's right leg and short die gouge at top right L in DOLLAR.
1- This VAM has a die crack thru eagle’s right wing tip extending up above first S in STATES and above D in UNITED. Late die states have a displaced field from the break forming a retained cud. These are the most desirable examples.

3- Obverse crack off last 1 in date is very similar to VAM-3AD2

There are also die crack thru top of STATES with double crack forming a raised oval break between the ES of states.
From June to August 2007, the 1921-P VAM-3BC was listed as a scribbling scratches tailfeathers variety. It was later shown to be the same as the 21-P VAM-3Y and was eliminated. Below are details on the scribbling scratches for the 21-P VAM-3Y:
