1921-P VAM-3R Die Break Ribbon

Discovered by John Kohut, February 2004.
3R IV 1 D2a (Die Break Ribbon) (189) I-2 R-6
Obverse IV 1 - Small die chip at bottom of sixth right star left point.
Reverse D2a - Diagonal die break thru middle of lower right wreath ribbon.
COMMENTS: January 2008: This VAM is now divided into the VAM-3R1 and VAM-3R2 after discovery that VAMs 3BT1 and 3BT2 (eliminated) are actually this variety. The 1921-P VAM-3AU has also been eliminated as the same as VAM-3R.
2010 - VAM-3R3 Discovery
The VAM 3R discovery coin is what is now classified as VAM 3R3.

The VAM-3R has some great scribbling scratches as well (formerly also listed as 21-P VAM-3BT). The vertical scratch in the protected area to the left of the right leg really pops out on this variety when viewed in person:

Fun die crack from the nose to the third left star. The coin in this photo is a die state for which the die chip star shown above has not yet formed, so this die crack from the nose may become more pronounced. If you have a super LDS example of this VAM, please comment:
