1921-P VAM-3DJ Scribbling Die Scratches #71, Vertical gouge upper and lower TF

3DJ IV 1 - D2a (Scribbling Die Scratches #71) (189) I-2 R-5
Reverse D2a - Fine diagonal die scratches from right side of D top of O in Dollar, thru O in OF and at left and above left Sn STATES.
Fine die scratches in various directions on over polished tail feathers around eagle's right leg and between eagle's left wing and body.
Die marker - Vertical die gouge in middle of upper and lower tail feather.
1- This variety is also known with a very large die fill taking out most of the upper right quadrant of the reverse.

This variety is tough to distinguish based on scribbles alone, as the scribbles are relatively shallow and very concentrated:
Thankfully, the VAM-3DJ has an interesting vertical die gouge in the middle of the upper tailfeathers making this VAM relatively easy to attribute:
The die gouge above should be more than enough to attribute this VAM, but just in case, note the die wear on the reverse motto (of this discovery coin at least) and a small gouge or crack to the top left of the "d".
