Reverse D2a– Small horizontal die gouge at top right of right wreath. Vertical die file lines and polishing lines around We Trust and OF on later die states.
COMMENTS: March 2008: the 1921-P VAM-36 and 1921-P VAM-36A have been eliminated. Same as 1921-P VAM-5 and 1921-P VAM-5A.

The next two pictures show how the gouges extend to just the left of the ‘A’ – or at least there is one large gouge near the ‘A’
There are also extensive die file lines or polishing lines or scratches through most of the motto, including, for example the one that curves out from the ‘t’.

The wreath has a gouge like
Compared to the rest of the die, the gouges that smoothed out the field is really the only place where you can see definitive pitting. However, the pitting is very small.
On the obverse, here are some pictures of the scribbling or scratches on the Liberty’s jaw just before the neck juncture.
