1921-P VAM-31A Doubled Left Obverse, Denticle Impressions Above Arrow Heads

Discovered by John Kohut, November 2004.
This coin is a Kimpton 12 Morgan Vam.
31A(revised) IV 25 · D2a (Doubled Left Obverse, Denticle Impressions Above Arrow Heads) (189) I-4 R-6
Obverse IV 25– All date digits doubled on left side. All left stars, E PLURI and forward edge of Liberty head hair slightly doubled towards rim.
Reverse D2a– Five raised rectangles above arrow heads from impressions of outside of denticles. Spacing between rectangles matches denticle spacings. Die file/polishing line in upper right fields to remove die clash marks.
COMMENTS: VAM-31A was split into VAMs 1921-P VAM-31A1 and 1921-P VAM-31A2 in the 2007 supplement. 1921-P VAM-31A1 is the earlier die state. 1921-P VAM-31A2 is the later die state with die file/polishing lines in obverse and reverse fields.
