1902-O VAM-54 Doubled Ear, Profile & Reverse Legend

Discovered 2007 by Brian Raines Revised 2010.
This coin is a Hit List 40 Morgan Vam.

Obverse III2 22 – Strongly doubled left inside, all of right outside and bottom of ear, hair above ear, bottom of left cotton boll, right side of right cotton boll and right side of lower cotton leaf. Doubled Liberty head profile from hair front down to upper neck. Eyelid doubled underneath. Date at left edge of normal position.
Reverse C4r – Same hub doubling as on VAM-26 C4. III O mint mark set slightly high with slight tilt to left.

1. Possibly the largest doubled ear in the Morgan dollar series.
2. Currently as of August 9th, 2009, only the discovery coin and three others are known, One of those is a raw MS63 specimen.
3. Slightly doubled UNITED STATES OF AME towards rim, tops of In God We Trust, top of eagle’s head, leaves in upper three clusters in left wreath and a middle leaf in top cluster of right wreath.
