Discovery 2013
5C III2 4 - C3a (Near Date, Clashed Obverse In & st, Clashed Reverse M) (188) I-3 R-6
Obverse III2 4 - Clashed dies with partial incuse In from reverse next to Liberty head neck and partial incuse st of Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge. Die marker - Double diagonal polishing lines in hair gap above 00. Different die than VAM 5A.
Reverse C3a - Clashed die with faint partial raised designer's initial M from obverse showing above d in God.

  1. A later die stage with a second clash exists, where the clashed letter transfer is no longer visible due to both die wear and the second clash. The coin on which this was observed was darkly toned, so the absence of clashed letters on this die stage needs to be verified on other specimens.
