1899-S VAM-12 High S, Tilted Right

Discovered by Jay Meltze, October 1981.
12 III2 1 C3h (High S, Tilted Right) (184) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 1 - Open 9's.
Reverse C3h - Narrow medium mint mark set high and tilted to right.
Comments:
1. That "Some specimens have die chip in wreath opposite NI of UNITED." is in error and is in reference to late stage VAM-14.
2. Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.
