1899-O VAM-28 Doubled 1-9, High O

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, July 1983.
28 III2 16 - C3e (Doubled 1-9, High O) (181) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 16: 1 Doubled below upper crossbar. Second 9 doubled slightly at very top. Date set on the left side of normal position.

The VAM-28 exhibits several unique die cracks that are similar to what is seen in VAM-7, but not an exact match.

This is the start of the die cracks. If you have two monitors, these images would be a great tutorial on what happens during the life of a die. On the Obverse what is the constant Pick Up Point (PUP)?

Straight across from the second U in UNUM on the cap, this feature is on all version. (RH)
