1898-S VAM-4 Near Date, S/S Right

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, June 1966.
4(revised) III25 · C3c (Near Date, S/S Right) (187) I-3 R-4
Obverse III25– Late die states show small die chip below Phrygian cap fold.
Reverse C3c– IV S mint mark doubled at right of top serif and below bottom serif. Some outer leaves of right wreath slightly doubled towards rim.
Die marker– Double vertical die scratches in middle of eagle’s right wing.

1. Very readily available.
