1898-S VAM-15 Open 9, S Tilted Right

Discovered by John Coxe
15 III2 2 - C3d (Open 9, S Tilted Right) (?) I-2 R-4
Obverse III2 2- Open 9. The bottom loop of the 9 does not touch the upper loop.
Reverse C3d- Mint mark tilted slightly to the right.

Comments:
1. This reverse shared with VAM-5, VAM-8, VAM-8A, VAM-9, VAM-13, VAM-15, and VAM-15A.
2. The obverse die is DIFFERENT from that for the VAM-15A. The reverse die is the same. It is easy to discriminate them by the lateral position of the final 8. On the VAM-15, it is centered over the 13th denticle to the right of the bust point. The VAM-15A is shift left of there. </br /> 3. This is the same OBV. die used for the VAM1B.
