1889-O VAM-1 Round O

Revised 2009
1 (revised) III2 1 - C3a (Round O) (181) I-1 R-1
Obverse III2 1 - Normal die of III2 type. Open 9. Some specimens show die chips between the loops of the 8 on left, both 8s on right side and both 8s on both sides..
Reverse C3a - Normal die of C3 type with circular medium III O mint mark centered and upright.
Die marker - Diagonal polishing lines next to eagle's leg.

Comments:
1. Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.
2. Rotated die has a slightly doubled profile at forehead, over polished lower hair and slanted date. Not enough to list per LVA.
3. Note: Occurs with rotated reverse of 60-105 degrees CW.
