1888-S VAM-14A Doubled Upper Right Obverse, S/S Upper Loop, Die Break Rt 8

14 III2 8 - C3g (Doubled Upper Right Obverse, S/S Upper Loop Die Break Rt 8) (186) I-3 R-6
Obverse III2 8 - Doubled upper right including top and lower inside of RIBUS UN towards rim, top and upper back of Phrygian cap, top edge of upper right cotton leaf, upper right edge of wheat leaves and hair below cotton bolls. Slightly doubled nose edge plus Die Break at right 8
Reverse C3g - Repunched mint mark with original showing as curved line on left side of upper loop opening, Set right and tilted right.
LVA Comments;
Discovery Letter

1. This reverse has the same die chip above eagles Head as VAM-14 and VAM-2.
2. The top of the B is one of the easier pick up points.
3. Shares the Reverse C3g with VAM-15 S/S set right and Tilted Right
4. Known to exist in grades up to MS65.
