1888-O VAM-10 Slanted Date
Discovered by Oscar Simpson, April 1977.
10 III2 6 C3a (Slanted Date) (181) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 6 - Date slanted with 1 close to rim.
Reverse C3a - Centered circular medium III O mint mark with wide opening, centered and upright.
1. Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.
LVA Plate Photos:
Centered, upright, medium round mint mark, possibly slightly doubled.
Not mentioned in the description, the bottom of the ear is doubled. This is possibly a hub defect from the master die transfer as it appears on numerous dies over the years.
