1887-O VAM-28 Doubled Stars and Motto, 18-7 in Denticles, Near Date

Discovered by Bill Van Note, November 1998.

Obverse III224– A doubled die in the radial direction with quadrupled to doubled left stars, slightly doubled right stars and E PLURIBUS UNUM doubled towards rim. Front of headband and forehead slightly doubled. Date set further left than normal. Tops of 18 – 7 showing in denticles as raised curved bar in denticle space below 18, raised curved bars in two denticle spaces to right of first 8 and short raised curved bar in denticle space below 7.

Comments:
1. Doubling on stars and letters may be same as VAM 23. Has die marker of three diagonal and parallel scratches in lower left of D shaped gap in hair.
