1886-P VAM-4 Doubled 188 Strong

Discovered by George Mallis, June 1965. Revised 2011.
4 (revised) III2 4 - C3a (Doubled 188 Strong) (190) I-3 R-3
Obverse III2 4 - 188 in date doubled. 1 strongly doubled below top crossbar, left 8 at top inside of upper loop and slightly at right outside of lower loop and right 8 on lower left inside of bottom loop.

Comments:
1. Doubling more pronounced than III2 3 obverse. Closed 6 variety
2. Same Doubling of 18 like VAM-11 (Eliminated - same as VAM 4)
3. Progression of this series is 4a then 4. The clean cheek comes about during constant striking.
