Comments:
1- All VAM-8's are Considered VAM-22 but LVA has NOT officially Delisted it. VAM-22
2- V'ampicker,' Here's a curve in this story if you guys haven't already noticed it. The VAM book plate for the old VAM 8 is wrong. That's actually the 85-CC VAM 4, while the original VAM 8 plate as it appeared in the 2nd edition ended up in the 85-CC VAM 4 slot. When I sent in my VAM 22 'discovery piece' back in 2001, I was kinda new at this and hadn't noticed the plate was wrong. My funky coin I couldn't ID didn't match any of the 85 Philly plates in my book or updates. Closest I could come was that VAM 8 plate, but it would have had to have been polished down. Since I had been going over the coin with the fine toothed comb trying to attribute it, I noticed and mentioned the minor doubled reverse. Funny thing is the prime motivation for sending it in was not being able to clearly match it to what turned out to be the wrong plate.
3- This VAM, along with its sister the VAM-22, is a scarce "Hit List" variety that carries a premium price.
