1885-O VAM-28 1 in Denticles, Doubled AMERICA, Gouge in Wing

Discovered by Jason Henrichsen, July 2009.
28 III2-20 - C3a (1 in Denticles, Doubled AMERICA, Gouge in Wing) (?) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2-20 - Top of 1 shows in denticle space between 18 as shallow curved bar with flat top above denticle. Date at right edge of normal lateral position.
Reverse C3e - Slight doubling of MERICA letters and middle leaves of right wreath towards rim. III O mint mark set slightly to right. Small vertical die gouge in eagle’s left wing next to leg. O mint mark set slightly right.

1. VAM-15 appears to be the same dies, just a later die state with no MPD.
