1883-O VAM-23 Doubled 18

Discovered by Jim Baxter, January 1979. Revised 2010. Revised 2013.
23(revised) III2 12 · C3a (Doubled 18) (181) I-3 R-5
Obverse III2 12 - Doubled 18 in date. 1 doubled on surface at top right of vertical shaft. First 8 slightly doubled at lower left inside of both loops.
Fine pitting on Liberty head. (Similar to VAM-21 Doubled 18 which has slightly slanted doubled top right of 1 and stronger surface doubling on left 8.)
Die marker - Two short vertical polishing lines below left side of bottom cotton leaf.
Reverse C3a -
Die marker - Polishing lines in eagle's neck-wing gap.
