1882-P VAM-1C Metal in Date
Discovered by Richard Deters, February 1972.
1C III2 1 ∙ C3a (Metal in Date) (180) I-2 R-3 (R-5???)
Obverse III2 1 – Metal in both 8's and the 2 in the date caused by die flaking, chipping and insufficient polishing. Some specimens only have metal in the 2.
Reverse C3a – Normal die
- Same obverse as VAM-20 except the 1C has no doubling where the VAM-20 does
