1881-O VAM-33 Doubled Ear Bottom

Obverse III2 22 – Ear slightly doubled at bottom of earlobe.
Die marker - Rough diagonal line in front of eye. Polishing lines cap ribbon left end.
Reverse C3d -
Die marker - Die crack bottom of wreath bow.

1. Doubled Ear Varieties : VAM-27, VAM-30, VAM-33,VAM-33B , VAM-40, VAM-45, VAM-50 , VAM-50A
2. In addition to the doubled earlobe bottom, there are two die gouges within the inner ear near the bottom.
3. The plated coin for VAM-1C was eliminated as same die pair as VAM-33A, then in 2014 that die pair became VAM-50.
4. In 2014 the Squirrel submitted a multi coin package to LVA for review and as a result proper classification was assigned but it has not been determined if the revision coin matches the original Discovery coin for the VAM-33 series.
