1880-S VAM-70 Doubled Date

Discovered by Martin Field, June 1985.
70(revised) III2 22 · C3b (Doubled Date) (184) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 22 –Small patch of polishing lines at Liberty head neck to remove die clash marks.
(Entire date is doubled. 1 is doubled on left side of vertical shaft. Left 8 is doubled on top surface at bottom of lower loop with a die chip between loops on right side. Right 8 is doubled at lower left outside of upper loop. 0 doubled slightly at lower left inside).
Reverse C3b – (Centered and upright VI S mint mark.) Fine polishing lines around eagle. Die marker- Thin horizontal line thru arrow feathers.

1. This obverse shared with VAM-33 and VAM-70.
2. This reverse shared with VAM-2, VAM-46, VAM-62. VAM-63, VAM-63A, VAM-70, VAM-71, VAM-74, VAM-85, VAM-88, and VAM-92.
