1880-S VAM-2 Large S

Discovered by Howard Newcomb, February 1913.
2 III2 1 ∙ C3b (Large S) (186) I-1 R-2
Obverse III2 1 – Normal die of III2 type.
Reverse C3b – Normal die of C3 type with very large centered and upright VI S mint mark.

1. Since VAM numbers are assigned by die classification, and not just by die pairing, multiple die pairings may exist.
2. This reverse shared with VAM-2, VAM-46, VAM-62. VAM-63, VAM-63A, VAM-70, VAM-71, VAM-74, VAM-85, VAM-88, and VAM-92.
