1880-P VAM-33A Doubled Date, Partial E on Reverse

33A(revised) III2 33 · C3a (Doubled Date, Partial E on Reverse) ( ? ) I-3 R-6
Obverse III2 33 – Entire Date doubled. 1 is doubled strongly at top of upper crossbar. First 8 doubled on surface at bottom right outside of lower loop. Second 8 doubled at lower loop, 0 doubled at left and right bottom outside.
Reverse C3a – Die 1 - Clashed die with partial E below eagle’s tail feathers on left side. Only middle back and middle serif of E shows very weakly. Set lower and weaker E than VAM-39A.
1. Rare and in demand with very few specimens known.
2. Later die state of VAM-33.
3. April 2019 confirmed this variety does in fact have a weak E clash.
