This coin is a Hot 50 Morgan VAM.

Obverse III2 29 – Doubled 80 in date and 8/7 check mark similar to VAM-16. Second 8 dbld on lower left outside of upper loop,o at top left and right outside but not as strong as VAM-16. Left 8 has die chip on upper left inside of lower loop. Remains of 7 shows on surface of left side of upper loop of second 8 in form of a check marker. Right side of check mark is more curved than VAM-16. Clashed die with partial incuse n of In from reverse showing next to Liberty head neck. Later die state than VAM-53A.
Reverse C3a – Normal die, die scratch on wing.
1- This obverse appears on VAM-53 and VAM-53A
2- This reverse also appears on VAM's, 32, 32A, and 43.

The dot on the cap has not been found on any other die states but only on this coin. Most likely it is not a die chip but pmd. DO NOT use as a die marker. However the die scratch on the hair IS a great die marker as it is on clashed and unclashed examples.
