1880-P VAM-28 Doubled Second 8, Tripled 0

Discovered by Jim Baxter, October 1977. Revised 2011.
28 (revised) III2 28 ∙ C3a (Doubled Second 8, Tripled 0) (181) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 28 – Right 8 slightly doubled at lower outside of upper loop, 0 tripled at lower left inside and doubled at top left and right outside. Die marker - Vertical polishing line at cap fold.
Reverse C3a – Faint thread-like die impression at bottom of eagle's left wing.

1. VAM-47/47A were eliminated as a duplicate of VAM-28/VAM-28A.
2.This VAM also comes with a "Smashed Wing" on the reverse. Two examples known.(See Pic Below)
