1880-O VAM-68 Doubled 80 & Wreaths

Revised 2009
68 (revised) III2 31- C3p (Doubled 80 & Wreaths) (176) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 31- Second 8 doubled slightly at lower left outside of upper loop. 0 doubled slightly at lower left inside.
Reverse C3p- Earliest die state with die scratch in left leaf cluster next to wreath bow. Also has fine vertical die scratch on inner feathers of eagle's left wing. Same die as VAMs 6C, 6D, 11 & 55 without die clash marks.

Comments:
1. This reverse shared with VAM-6C, VAM-6D, VAM-11, VAM-11A, VAM-55, and VAM-68. without die clash marks.
2. That VAM is a good one as it is likely the first use of the squiggle reverse die that was paired later for the VAM-55 and then for VAM-6D (the original VAM-6 no doubt) and VAM-6C. Alefzero Quote
