1879-S VAM-70 Open 9, Overpolished Eagle's Head

Discovery by Brian Raines, February, 2010.
70 III2 2a - C3a (Open 9, Overpolished Eagle's Head) (184) I-3 R-5
Obverse III2 2a- Same obverse as VAM-4 . Slightly beveled field below 187.
Reverse C3a- Severely over polished upper reverse with very shallow eagle's head and open nostril, some disconnected leaves in left wreath and scattered heavy polish lines in fields. Die marker-Horizontal polishing lines inside and at outside left of wreath bow.
