1879-S VAM-1C Pitted Face

Discovered by Brian Raines May, 2009.
1C III2 1 - C3a (Pitted Face) (181) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 1 - Rusted die with some fairly large die pits on face at nose and behind eye. Minor quintupled doubling on bottom edge of stars and date digits.
Extra metal on lower point of 2nd right star. 1st and third right bottom star points blunt.
Reverse C3a - Some doubling of wreath leaves on left side of reverse, under UNITED.
