1879-O VAM-41 Doubled 87 and Lower Reverse

Discovered by Laurence Galbraith, April 2006.
41 III2 13 · C3p (Doubled 87 and Lower Reverse) (176) I-3 R-3
Obverse III2 13 8 doubled slightly at bottom left outside of both loops. 7 doubled below crossbar. Open 9.
Reverse C3p – Same hub doubling as in VAM 40 C3o but with slight tilt of II O mint mark to left.
Die marker - Heavy polishing lines around olive leaves.

Comments:

  1. Different obverse die from VAM 19 even though both are classified as III2 13.
  2. VAM 41 and VAM 41A are the same obverse and reverse
  3. Small dot on bottom Arrow Head, different position than VAM 43
