1878-S VAM-73 Doubled Eyelid with Spike, Lines in Tail Feathers

Discovered by Calvin Cherry, July 2002.
This coin is a Top 30 1878-S Variety.
73 II 30 · B2a (Doubled Eyelid with Spike, Lines in Tail Feathers) (185) I-2 R-5
Obverse II 30– Eyelid doubled below front with short spike from front of eye below doubling.
Reverse B2a– Diagonal die polishing lines in eagle’s tail feathers of VAM 1D.
Comments:
1- Obverse is shared with 1878-S VAM-107 and 1878-S VAM-114
2- Reverse shared with VAM 1D. With Reverse first used on VAM 73
