1878-S VAM-69 Engraved Wing Feather

69 II 1 · B2ar (Engraved Wing Feather) (184) I-2 R-5
Reverse B2ar– Feather engraved between eagle’s right wing and leg with vertical engraving lines in that area. R in Trust broken. Small III S mint mark in normal position with slight tilt to right. Slightly doubled UNITED S-TE towards rim. Also used for VAM-102.
Comments:
1- The vertical engraving lines 'pop' off in the area outlined by the four arrows. The area is far more pronounced than is demonstrated in the photograph.
2- Vam [VAM-47] die 3 and 69 share the same obverse
'3- P'ossible s/s need more photo's of Mint Mark (5-21-2015 I have added a photo of my mintmark and it does not appear to be doubled. fogie)
