1878-S VAM-53 Doubled LIBERTY, Broken B, Concave Obv., Dbld Left Wreath, Eng. Wing Feather

Discovered by Martin Field, September 1982.

Obverse II 7– Same concave die as [VAM-9],VAM-21,[VAM-79]
Reverse B2ak– Outside leaves on left wreath and UNITED STATES OF slightly doubled towards rim. Feather engraved between eagle’s right wing and leg. R in Trust not broken. Diagonal die scratch just above engraved wing feather. Die chip on first T in STATES on some specimens.
