1878-S VAM-16 Die Scratch on Wing, Engraved Wing Feather

Discovered by Guy Messing, May 1973.
This is a Top 30 1878-S Die Variety.
16 II 12- B2o (Die Scratch on Wing, Engraved Wing Feather) (184) I-2 R-4
Obverse II 12- E PLURIB letters in motto doubled on right side and some on bottom. 18-8 doubled slightly on bottom. Number 3 stars on right and left doubled. LIBERTY doubled slightly to left.
Reverse B2o- Vertical scratch through lower part of eagle's right wing. R in TRUST not Broken.

2. Reverse class B2o also used for VAM-28.and VAM-20
