1878-P VAM-195 Broken D

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, December 1965.
195 II2 - B2e (Broken D) (179) I-2 R-3
Obverse II2 - Diagonal line through "B" LIBERTY.
Reverse B2e - Bottom of "D" in DOLLAR completely broken.

1. The VAM-195 has a diagonal line through "B" and bottom of "I" in LIBERTY. Slightly doubled bottom of PL and left side of R (Same obverse used with VAM 131C).
2. 4th Obverse right star is broken.
3. R in Trust not broken. Most have die polish lines from the arrow heads; EDS coins do not have this feature.

The area between the eye and the nose is heavily polished to the point where it looks hollow. The nostril is also polished to the point where it almost gone.

The D is broken:
There is a small blob of metal on the top arrow.
