Discovered by Michael Fey, August 2002.
This coin is a Hit List 40 Morgan Vam.
This coin is a Top 30 1878 Variety
189 II 1 B2g (Added Engraved Wing Feather) (193) I-4 R-6
Reverse B2g Same as B2c with broken r in Trust but with die over polished with original feathers missing on eagle's right wing next to leg and center of eagle's left wing. Diagonal feather lines engraved in missing feather area next to eagle's right leg. First known die of Philadelphia Mint adding wing feathers to 7 TF reverse.

1. Very scarce variety and one of the top 5 7TF coins according to Jeff Oxman. EDS coins have 2-sided PL qualities and do not have the long diagonal die polish lines visible in the photo below. This marriage apparently ended with a clashing episode with the obverse die being repolished. The weakened obverse was then used for VAM 188 and later VAM 223.
2. rev:closed o,broken r
