116B (revised) II/I 18 - B2a (Doubled P & 1-8, Die Gouge State 2) (180?) I-4 R-5
Reverse B2a- Heavily polished die with most of feather between eagle's right wing and leg removed except for small bit at bottom. Clash marks and gouges/polishing lines removed in fields. Later die states show vertical die scratch added from bottom of lower arrow head and vertical and horizontal polishing lines around olive.

In the photo below, the arrows point to an "X" that is formed just above the branch.

The gouge from the tip of the arrowhead to the middle of the end of the branch is pointed out by an arrow. The other arrows
point to the gouge that is not as heavy as noted on the VAM 116C, but is also noticable.

The top arrow in the photo below points to a heavy die gouge coming out of the leg. The gouge is stronger and more
noticable than this photo depicts. The lower arrow points to a thin polishing mark below the gouge. These markings
are the better of all pick-up points for the 1878 VAM 116 B.
