Obverse III21– Diagonal die gouge inside ear. Clashed die with faint partial incuse n of In slightly away from Liberty head neck. The EDS of VAM 1A has a strong double incuse t from Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge.
1- The VAM-1A has three known stages and all are considered part of the Super CD collection.
Stage 1 An earlier die state showing only partial single incuse t or showing no t at all, has yet to be found. Such a coin would be considered an UEDS and quite rare.
Stage 2 The MDS specimens showing doubled/tripled Clashed top of t from ust in the HairVee on Obverse.
and typically comes with a double Clashed Neckline. This is the most common of the three stages
Stage 3 The LDS, which commands a hefty financial premium, has a full t from Trust from the reverse showing in the right hair vee of the lower hair edge and is struck so deeply, that it covers the doubled incuse t seen on the EDS. The tops, however, can still be seen and the LDS is correctly described has having three t clashes in the first hair vee.
