1881-S VAM-22 Slanted Date, S Set Left, Doubled Right Reverse
Discovered by Louis Davis, May 1977.
22(revised) III211 · C3l (Slanted Date, S Set Left, Doubled Right Reverse) (185) I-2 R-5
Obverse III211– Date slightly slanted with first 1 closer to rim. Slightly doubled top of Phrygian cap.
Reverse C3l– IV S mint mark set left with slight tilt to right. Slightly doubled bottom inside of ATES OF AMERI-A and outside leaves of top two leaf clusters of right wreath towards rim. Motto letters doubled at top.
